A catalogue is, by its own definition, a collection of images of similar objects. […] The photographs in this series focuse on the material surface – such as tiles or marks – found on the walls of suburbs, cities and houses. These surfaces have always planes of direct communication, looked upon and experienced on a daily basis. Alongside this collective, public gaze on urban surfaces, I’m also interested in images of the interior; the surfaces become codes of communication or moments of identity. […] On one level, dressed in their tiles, the houses often seem austere – a grey, uniform landscape fixed in a limited chromatic range; and yet, ona lowered shutter, there is space for an infinte combination of shades.
